Just a quick note to welcome two new analysts to Freeform Dynamics. Tony Lock and Joyce Becknell will need no introduction for many. They are both extremely well known in the industry and join us today to further strengthen our already highly experienced team.
Based in Germany, Tony has been an industry analyst since 2000, originally with Bloor Research, then later with Sageza. Before this, he gained extensive vendor experience working for companies such as Amdahl, and also has a strong IT practitioner background from various technical and management roles at large blue chip companies like BP and BT. One of the areas Tony will be looking at in his new role is how delivery models such as managed services, hosting and software as a service (SaaS) are changing the way in which IT is procured and deployed.
Based in Italy, Joyce also has a long track record as an industry analyst, again most recently with Sageza (where she was the the founding analyst in Europe), but before this with the Aberdeen Group. During her 15 year career in the IT industry, Joyce has also held various marketing and commercial positions for companies like Dell, Tricord and Networks Unlimited. In her new role at Freeform, Joyce will be covering the SMB sector, channels and emerging markets, as well as server and storage infrastructure from a technology perspective.
Together with other recent additions, Jon Collins and Martin Atherton, this latest expansion means that Freeform has acquired an additional 25 years plus of collective industry analyst experience over the last three months. We’re still relatively small though, just 7 in the research team in total, so we should be able to hang onto that Freeform spirit and culture for a long while yet.
In the meantime, watch this space for output from Tony and Joyce very soon. Given how prolific they both are as writers, something tells me you won’t have to wait too long!

Congrats to you all. I have high expectations of the new, improved Freeform.
Blimey - I've not been paying enough attention - great to see you've bagged Martin. Great guy. Smart thinker.
Great news. Does Sageza no longer exist?
